The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo

I went to see the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo on Tuesday (cheap night!). Having read the books, watched the Swedish version, I have to say I think the US version was better (how often is an American film better than its Euro counterpart???)

I thought it was weird that they would re-make a movie so soon after the Swedish one, especially since it was shown over here with success. But once I heard David Fincher was attached, and Daniel Craig (who is EXACTLY who I pictured when reading the book), I was intrigued. The fact that I sat through a movie who story I have read and seen before, I was still on the edge of my seat, and I was surprised to find that I liked Rooney Mara's portrayal better than the original, she showed a bit of innocence, but was still believably tough withdrawn. Oh and the opening credits were kinda amazing...a Fincher opening never disappoints! I can always tell if I really liked a movie, by if I am still thinking about it the next day - and I imdb/googled the crap out of it the next day lol.

Have you read or seen it? What was your opinion?

Guest Post > Scary Movies

Hello! it's me Erika from A Tiny Rocket and Halloween is one my all time favorite holidays.   It's the one time of year you can wear a costume, carve a pumpkin, and eat as much as candy as you can hold.  What I love most about Halloween? is of course scary movies.  My sisters and I- when were kids would sit around late at night and watch scary movies, drink hot cocoa, and snack on candy corn.  So here is my Halloween- all time list of scary movies! Muauuauaua- ok I had to do the scary laugh.

The Exorsist- Just mentioning the name gives me goose bumps.  A little girl being possessed by the devil. It's an oldie but a goodie- perfect for Halloween.  Make sure you keep your holy water handy for this one.

The Blair Witch Project- a faux documentary of a group doing a documentary of some old wives tales that take place in the woods.  So scary! I couldn't go camping for about a year after watching this movie.

The Ring- I remember watching this movie in college and my friend called me during it.  Scared me! I'm not spoiling it for you but it all starts with a phone call.

What's your favorite scary movie?

Hunger Games Casting

How are you feeling about this?? Who would you have cast?

I would have had the two actors reversed - Liam Hemsworth play Peeta and Josh Hutcherson play Gale. I think Jennifer Lawrence is perfect though. I am halfway throuigh the series, so I guess I have a chance to re-jig how I pictured them.

Liam Hemsworth > Gale           Jennifer Lawrence > Katniss             Josh Hutcherson > Peeta
