Re-Style > Kitchen Benches

We have a great little table with bench seats that my father in law found and fixed up for us, what wasn't working was the fabric on the seats - probably worked fine for a house with no kids, but many spills later and some matted down play doh, we were left with some pretty gross looking seats.

This was a super simple project and I can't believe how long I stalled on it. First we took the seats off the benches, stapled down some fabric, then stapled down a layer of plastic, and voila new spill retardant seats! We will probably stick to them in the summer, but we will deal with that when the time comes:)

Restyle > Step Stool

I got this at a yard sale for Lily - who is always dragging wobbly chairs around so she can play in the sink - I thought this would be a little safer. It's a stool, but when you lift the seat it's has little steps.

It was super rusty and the vinyl on it had some tearing and stains, so I painted it with rust paint and re-covered it with some fabric and a clear vinyl ($0.40) from the hardware store.

Restyle > Shelf

Finally painted my $1.25 yard sale shelf for the kitchen- I forgot to take a good before pic, but you can kinda see it there in the bottom of this picture. I still want to replace the hooks on it so they are all different, but I need to collect a few more unique ones first.

Happy Weekend! Hope your enjoying it :)

Restyle > Mini File Cabinet

I got this little mini filing cabinet for $1 at a yard sale, and after a little paint job I am using it in my kitchen for storage - I was thinking of putting spices and stuff in it, but then I realized  Miss Lily will make a huge mess with that - so I need to find something that is ok for her to get into - any suggestions?

Restyle > Key Holder

I am not sure where this came from, I think Clifford had it before I met him, I never like to get rid of things made of wood, so I thought I'd try and spruce it up a bit, see if I could make it match our kitchen more :)

Easy Chair Recover

This is an heirloom piece from Scotts's Granny. I love the chair but the upholstery didn't really match our house. Turns out it was really easy to change!
