A Little Change of Plans = A Big Adventure

So remember that country wedding I was in...well the bride to be Aminah  made a slight adjustment - and now we are heading to Ireland! I am pretty excited I have travelled a bunch within Canada and the USA I have never left the continent.

The wedding isn't until October 2013, but that doesn't mean I can't research the crap out of it  now : )

Fun facts I am learning - did you know the Titanic was build in Belfast? and that Liam Neeson used to be a boxer? and that most of Braveheart was filmed there? (Obviously I know the important things to research)

We are saving out pennies now and am hoping to convince Clifford that you can't actually fly from Canada to Ireland - that you have to fly to Paris first :P

Around Georgetown

We took a little trip into Georgetown one night during our DC trip, I have never seen so many fancy cars in one place! It was Graduation for the students at Georgetown University, which I think added to the flux of cars worth more than my house. We didn't stand out at all as tourists, driving around in a grand caravan :)

Washington DC

I am starting to feel caught up after our trip, it was kinda nice not being able to get emails, text or facebook, but at the same time I had lots of work to catch up on when I got home!

We lost a memory card with about half our pictures on it, which is kinda sad, cause it included the White House, American History Museum, Lincoln Monument, Washington Monument, Vietnam Wall, WW2 Monument and some from the road :(

Despite loosing the card we still have a ton of pics, here's some of my faves :)

Home Again, Home Again

Well we are back! We had a great (and busy!) trip. I must say the kids did really well, with the long car ride (with traffic it took more like 11 hours) and all the walking we made them do. Weather was great, I'm tanned and ready for summer now!

I had to go back to work right away, so am slowly catching up on work/emails/blog stuff and will have a more photo heavy post soon, in the meantime here's a quick one from my cell phone!

Mini Vacy coming up!!

Our DC trip trip is tomorrow! I am pretty excited. I love road trips, and this will be Clifford's first road trip with all the girls  (I took the girls to Boston/Salem 2 Halloween's ago but he had a lot of school work and couldn't come).

I have been putting together activity packs for the kids to help keep them entertained on the 9 hour drive. I included stickers, markers (thank you dollar store!), colouring pages, license plate check list (thank you internet!)  and Sarah's' road trip bingo. Any other ideas on cost effective ways to keep kids entertained on the road? What did your parents use to do for you?
