Happy Monday all! How was your weekend?

Paint & Glitter

This Christmas we decided that it was high time the kids joined in the stress of making holiday gifts.. so we sweat shop style set them up with ornaments to paint. They found it more fun then work though..maybe they are to something...Christmas crafting should be fun?!

We used a salt dough recipe found here. I added another 1/2 cup of water, and we probably should have baked them longer... I may throw my painted ones back in to harden them up ( can you do that post paint?)

Christmas Knitting > Sack Boy

My next project is some Little Big Planet Sack Boys, to give as Christmas presents. I am going to hopefully get 2 done - but we'll see! I have never knit a toy before, and I have a habit of thinking things look easier than they are.

How is your Christmas crafting coming along?

Happy Monday

How was your weekend? We celebrated Cassie's b-day by having a girls night back in our home town.. but I don't need to share those embarrassing pics :{

Sunday, we went out for brunch, for a nature walk, had a fire when we got home where we roasted marshmallows. Our weather has been amazing! I can't believe it's November and I can still use the clothes line! Now I need to get started on Christmas and plan what I need to buy/make so that I am not working till the wee hours of Christmas eve :)

What is better than nap time by a fire??

Cornfields & Deadlines

October is flying by! I am not done my sweater, have not even begun to think about decorations and haven't started Lily or Kate's costumes..and really Maya's is just cut out so it's barely started! I need to do some serious time management.. darn jobs getting in the way of fun work!

How are you Halloween plans going? Are you dressing up - and as what??

Here are a few pics from our cornfield photoshoot last weekend :) Now I need to get back to work!!

Kids Costumes > Sneak Peek

Today I decided to get a start on Maya's costume. She's had it picked out since we went to DC (where we bought the most vital part of the costume!) Probably takes a real stretch of the imagination to guess what she is going to be.

Knitting Project > Cardigan

I finally finished my never ending cardigan! For something so small I can't believe it took me so long! I'm glad despite some setbacks with it that I stuck with it and finished it though. And obviously Lily loves it and wears it all the time...and by love I mean cries everytime I try to get it on her :)

What I learned:
- Seed stitch
- Raglan knitting
- Never use Lion Brand patterns again

I've started my next project that I will share soon - I'm excited because it's part of my Halloween costume!

Collections > Jessi's Fisher Price

I was going to post my friend Emily's collection first  - but it puts mine to shame (and I don't have her pictures yest -but soon!) So here's mine - she got me on to it and it is slowly taking over the kids room. Most were found at yard sales or kijij, the purse it actually my old one, my mom somehow managed to save it all these years with all the pieces and gave it to Lily this year for her birthday.

It's pretty addictive trying to find the old toys I had as a kid - what did you use to play with when you were  little? Do you still have any of those old toys?

Beach Babies

It's so hot here, I haven't felt much like working on anything, instead we have just bee taking it easy with the kidlets -hence the overload of kid pictures lately :)

We have a little break from birthday's and such for awhile so hopefully I can get my room started soon -that is if I can find any motivation in this humidity! I hope you are all getting to enjoy your summer - can you believe it's mid July already??

Crazy little bag lady

Lily's new thing is to carry purses everywhere - filled to the brim with toys, it's cute, but I do kinda picture her in 50 years, pushing a grocery cart filled with bottles, trailed by cats

DIY Play Tent

We decided to build Lily this cute little tent for her birthday (she'll be 2 at the end of the month). Clifford made the frame while I was at work, and I sewed the fabric, and if Lily doesn't like it - the dog seems to :)

Happy Friday!

Family Lego

For her birthday Kate got the Hogwarts Lego castle (we are not at all obsessed in this house...). The plan is to work on it every Sunday as a family until it's done. I never really played with Lego as a kid, clearly I missed out all theses years.

Have you built any lego kits before? I am amazed at the detail they put in!
