or pretty close anyways!

The colours are a little less pastelly on mine  :)

Scene In: Parks and Rec

I am totally in love with Parks and Rec and have been pining forever for Ann's afghan!

It's based on a simple circle center granny square with a great retro palette. The colours are olive green, red, yellow, pink, lavender, purple and a light orange. It looks like the yarn weight is probably DK, which would mean that you could probably use a 3.5mm hook. I did a test square in random worsted colours and it's a pretty close match! The only changes I made to the pattern was to use half double crochets on the second row, and add in two extra rows.

If I ever get the time I'll make the rest :P

WIP: Hats!

I've been making hats like crazy lately this one is on hold until I finish the little beret I'm working on. It's kind of a wig/hat hybrid for one of my neices and it looks totally redic.

I am loving working with this fingering weight wool! It knits up so pretty...but I hate using the tiniest needles in my arsenal. Things take forever to take shape!

Too Many Projects

I seem to be taking on too many crochet and knitting projects
all at once and none of them are getting done :/

First, I am running out of wool for this poncho.  Thought I was stash busting now realizing I'm going to be way short.  That means I'm discouraged and don't want to finish.

Second, I really need a pair of slippers.  I never make patterns from the knitting magazines I buy so I'm making some from this issue of Knit Simple.  Simple? Yes, but also boring! So not much progress there...

Third, this sweater.  I already hate it and I'm looking for a new pattern so I can frog all this out.  I totally sized it wrong and the "ladies" will never fit in there lol

Fourth, these hexa-grannys.  Maybe someday will be an afghan?  Maybe will sit infinitely at the bottom of my knitting basket? Who knows, but I haven't touched them in months.

Crochet Granny Boots

This thrifted baby booty book that I picked up for .50 (deals!)  has some pretty neato patterns once you get past some of the colour choices :P  I really love how these granny boots turned out!

I totally want to make a me-sized pair!!!

Unfinished Business

I chronically do not finish projects....for every one I finish there are 3 more in a box somewhere that I can't bring myself to complete.

So before I started a dozen new ones I resolved to finish my long waiting granny square afghan. When I say long waiting, I  mean years!  This was the first thing I ever learned to crochet, and some of these granny squares are not so nice :)  I am by no means a perfectionist, so I just fudged it.  Sewed up my mistakes and told myself, this is what will make this special  <3

Besides, Obi loves it!

Merfish

I saw this Merfish pattern on Ravelry when I was looking up things to make for the baby's room.  They turned out super cute and with some twine left over from my wedding and a dowel that was laying around, I put together this little wall hanging.

So perfect for the nuggets room!!!
