Getting into a Groove :)

I am mostly totally exhausted right now.  On top of the normal just having a baby stuff, Abe and I both have a head cold right now.  It's making it a little difficult to keep on top of things but we're muddling through :)

Abe> giving me the "stink eye"

I did start the hat below a while back, and actually knit some of it whilst in labour! It's another one from that retro knitting book that I picked up from SNB; the one that I knit the green/teal hat from.

I'll keep you updated on when I finish this :)  Our friend Leslie told me it took her about a month to master feeding and knitting at the same time, so I have that to look forward to!

A Slightly Less Inappropriate Hat

I made that hat from the retro knitting pattern book I picked up at SNB.

When not made in flesh tone it's actually pretty cute!

Stitch N Bitch

We kinda took over Starbucks this week - I think close to 20 people made it out . I got started on my sweater project - and was able to get the collar done (I am excited because it has a button hole - so I feel like I did something fancy!) I also learned that I could download a row counter on my Android - I think I was most excited about that ....small things lol

Other fun stuff :
-Suzanne found a box of free knitting patterns on her way and brought them to share - Cassie is going to make a hat from one..and it should be hilarious
-Lauren tried to find something deep and meaningful about Twilight - came up blank, concluded it was not good and everyone should read Harry Potter
-I actually pulled off doing my hair in a cute up do (seriously I cannot do my hair  - this was a big step!)
-and 2 new people came - and one is a beginner too - so I am not alone anymore :)

that's me in the middle - with my personal knitting tutor Michelle
Cassie at maybe her last SNB before baby!
Christie hiding behind the free knitting books
county - my row counter app - it only goes to 100 - not sure if maybe I will need to do a search for a higher count one, do you typically go over 100??

Baby Shower

Had my baby shower about a week ago, totally rocked that top bun!

While I got a ton of great stuff, all greatly appreciated, I thought I'd share with you some of the homemade goodies I got from my wonderful friends and family.

baby booties > made by Leslie from SNB

blanket and cap > made by my sister Raven

aviator hat and sophisticate sweater > made by Christie from SNB

crochet sweater > made by my friend Linday's mom Wanda

sock yarn blankie > made by Michelle from SNB

knit blanket > made by Scooter's Grandma Milly

I am totally having the best dressed baby :)  Thanks to everyone for all the great gifts!
We're so lucky to have so many great people in our lives <3

first complete knitting project!

I tried to start knitting last year - but never had the time to really work on it so I decided this year was the year. I finally finished my first scarf - and surprise to me, it's actually wearable!

It is a simple one stitch "pattern", and now I am ready to learn new techniques. The lovely ladies at Stitch N Bitch (a group of knitters, crocheters, crafters who meet weekly at Starbucks) are helping me with projects and I am now half way through my first dishcloth - which is teaching me increasing and decreasing. It's looking a little wonky but, hey it's a dishcloth, my dishes won't care!

Craft Purge

We make deals at our house to get things done.
Our Valentine's Day deal was that I would re-organize and purge some of my craft stuff and Scott would take me shopping and buy me dessert <3

So this is what happened to the living room by Monday morning.

All of this had been stored in the babies closet making it pretty much nonfunctional .

I purged a big bag of yarn and dropped it off to Stitch and Bitch.
I also realized that I have 40 to 50 zippers.   I think I need to find some zipper crafts..... :P
